15th July 2018

The quadrennial FIFA world cup has a massive following among people

of all age groups. But for students of St. Claret PU College it was an

experience like never before this season. With live screening of the

finals on the big screen, face painting of their favorite team’s flags, Aero

Show, Music, Food and dance, Claretines had the perfect end to the

Football fever that gripped the city.

Prinicpal Rev.Fr. Sojan K Abraham who has always believes in doing

something different said,

“ Sports should be an integral part of a student’s life. The perfect

balance is achieved when you allow students to enjoy Sports and

academics equally. At SCPC, we wanted to let parents know that it is

ok for students to break free once in a while and have fun. What

better way to let loose and enjoy the finals on a big screen at their

own campus where students, staff and parents came together and

had a great time.”

The initiative was welcomed tremendously by parents who were also

present with their wards on Sunday. From Face painting, to Flash Mob

to FIFA Quiz to Aero Show, students were pleasantly surprised by their

college’s initiative and now believe that in today’s times, an open and

free environment by the college is a must.

“When College takes up such initiatives, even students feel that the

institution truly cares and understands a teenager. It encourages a

healthy atmosphere for students to stay committed to the morals and

values of the college.”

Allen Gonsalves, 2N PUC, President, SCPC

“15TH July 2018 will be a day remembered by every Claretine! Thanks to our Principal Rev. Fr. Sojan Abraham  for taking the initiative  of having the live screening of FIFA World Cup Finals 2018 in the college campus.”

Sameeksha R Singh, 2N PUC, President, SCPC

All in all, it sure was a perfect way to end the celebrations of the FIFA

fever which had gripped the city as students get back to their regular

academic routine satisfied.
